2026 Wedding Hair Trends: What Real Brides Are Choosing

22 April 2026 · 5 min read · by Mia Chen

Less 'trend forecast', more honest observation from the trial chair. Six looks we've done more of in 2026, and the one we've stopped doing.

Wedding hair "trend" articles are usually compiled by someone who hasn't held a curling iron in years. This is different — six things we've genuinely done more of in 2026, and one we've quietly stopped doing.

1. The undone chignon Loose, sculpted at the nape, soft tendrils framing the face. This was the runaway favourite of the spring season — every other bride asked for some version of it. It works on most face shapes and most hair textures.

2. The single statement flower Real flower, real stem, tucked into a half-up section. We used to see this once a quarter; we did it twelve times in May alone. It's the perfect compromise for the bride who wants minimal and bold.

3. The 70s-influenced flick Long hair worn down with a deep parting and soft outward flicks at the ends. Indoors only — it doesn't survive weather.

4. The braided crown for textured hair We've done more crown braids on Afro and curly hair in 2026 than in the previous three years combined. Amara has been booked solid.

5. Pearl pins, not crystal pins Crystal was the 2023–2024 default; pearl has quietly taken over. They photograph warmer, sit more comfortably with ivory dresses, and don't catch the flash awkwardly.

6. The "second-day" look A polished version of the bride's everyday hair. No drama. No statement. We've had two brides this year tell us they wanted to look "like myself on the best day my hair has ever had." We love that.

And the one we've stopped doing The Hollywood waves with the deep side parting. It dates faster in photographs than almost anything else and is unflattering on most face shapes — we politely suggest alternatives now.
